Breast cancer: the importance of self-examination
October 19th is Breast Cancer Awareness Day. In Spain, 33,307 new cases were diagnosed in 2019. One in eight women will suffer from breast cancer in their lifetime, according to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
That's why it's important to raise awareness of the importance of self-examination for early detection, as catching it early is an advantage. At SaveFamily, we're wearing pink to raise awareness of the battle faced by so many women, mothers, daughters, sisters, cousins, grandmothers, friends, and their loved ones. The vast majority of cases diagnosed in their early stages are completely cured. We want to remind you of the importance of this cause and make an appeal. If you're reading this, please hurry and tell all the women in your life how important it is to self-examine and, if in doubt, to see a specialist.
World Breast Cancer Day is not on October 19th, but every day, and there's no better way to win the fight against a disease than through prevention.
We want to dedicate this post to all the women who have suffered from this disease, to those who will have to fight it, to all the brave women who face it every day, to those who are no longer with us, and to all their loved ones who have been affected in some way by the disease. This is for you!
I hope that one day women will no longer have to fight this disease.
