Healthy recipes to make with children

Cooking is an activity that can be entertaining for both adults and children. Today we'd like to share some easy, healthy, and fun ideas for cooking with the little ones and spending quality time together. The most fun part is finding an activity that motivates you and encourages you to work together as a family. Below are some of our recipe suggestions:

Vegetable Mini Pizzas: For this recipe, you'll need whole-wheat mini pizzas, tomato purée, low-fat cheese, and vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Dice the vegetables and top the pizzas with a spoonful of tomato purée and grated cheese. Bake in the oven for a few minutes until the cheese is melted. Kids can help arrange the toppings and decorate the pizzas!

Fruit Smoothie: For this recipe, you'll need fresh fruit like bananas, strawberries, kiwi, and any other fruit you like. Wash and cut the fruit into small pieces, add it to the blender, and blend until smooth. If you like, you can add a little plain yogurt or milk for a creamy texture. The kids can help blend and top with more fruit!

Vegetable Sandwiches: For this recipe, you'll need whole-wheat bread, avocado, tomato, and lettuce. Slice the ingredients and place them between two slices of bread. If you like, you can add a little mustard or low-fat mayonnaise. The kids can help cut the ingredients and assemble the sandwiches!

Chicken and Vegetable Quesadillas: For this recipe, you'll need whole-wheat tortillas, cooked and cubed chicken breast, low-fat shredded cheese, and vegetables like bell peppers and onions. Heat a skillet and add a tortilla, then place the chicken, vegetables, and cheese on top. Top with another tortilla and cook on both sides until the cheese is melted. Kids can help arrange the toppings and flip the quesadillas in the skillet!

Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups: For this recipe, you'll need low-fat ham, low-fat cheese, and vegetables like spinach and bell peppers. Cut the ham and cheese into long strips and place a spinach leaf and a bit of bell pepper on top of each strip. Roll them up and secure with a toothpick. The kids can help roll the roll-up and insert the toothpicks!

Oatmeal Pancakes: For this recipe, you'll need oat flour, eggs, milk, and cinnamon. Mix the ingredients in a large bowl until well combined. Heat a frying pan and add a little oil, then pour small portions of the mixture into the pan and cook until golden brown. Kids can help mix the ingredients and shape the pancakes!

We hope these healthy and easy recipes are a fun way to cook with kids and enjoy delicious and nutritious meals together!
